Round is an interview-practice service provided by roundinterview.com. This policy describes how Round handles information for its Free release. For privacy questions or account-data requests, email support@roundinterview.com.
Browsing and guest practice
You can browse available questions and practice without signing in. Round uses browser storage for guest drafts, notes and practice history. Guest work stays in that browser unless you choose to transfer it into an account. Other people using the same browser profile can see guest work. Clearing browser storage or changing browsers can make that work unavailable. Requests to load the site still pass through its hosting and network services, which can process technical information such as IP addresses and request details to deliver and protect the service.
Accounts and saved work
When you create an account, Round uses your email address, authentication records and an account identifier to confirm your email, sign you in, keep your session and help you recover access. Round uses cookies to maintain signed-in sessions.
Round saves your signed-in practice work to your account. This includes drafts and their languages, notes, bookmarks, self-reported completion, plans and recent activity. When you use Run or Submit attempt while signed in, Round saves captured code and practice outcomes to your account. Python and JavaScript execute in your browser on supported questions. Timed practice also saves your answers, practice reports and any reflections you enter. Browser recovery copies can keep unsaved work on your device, including after sign-out.
Trial eligibility
Round uses a private trial record to enforce one trial per normalized email address. To normalize an address, Round trims surrounding whitespace, converts it to lowercase and drops the plus tag, if any. For Gmail, it also ignores dots in the part before the @ and treats googlemail.com as gmail.com. Round stores a SHA-256 hash of the normalized address and the trial dates. When the account is deleted, the trial record loses its account link. The hash and dates remain to enforce trial eligibility.
Service providers and support
Render hosts the Round web app. Supabase provides authentication and the account database. Resend handles account email delivery and the support inbox. Cloudflare provides the domain and DNS. These providers handle information needed for their respective services. When you email support, Round uses your address and message to respond and handle your request. Keep passwords, sign-in links and payment information out of support messages and practice work. Round’s Free release has no payment checkout or trial reminder email.
Export and deletion requests
Use Export progress in your account to download the study work currently shown in Round. This includes available pending edits shown on that device. Practice history and timed-session recovery have separate export options. These downloads cover practice data. For other account records, a correction or account deletion, email support@roundinterview.com. Round verifies account ownership before releasing or changing private records. Account deletion is handled through support.
Removing your account removes its live account-owned study records. The trial record described above remains. Backup, operational and email-provider records are handled separately from live account records. Browser recovery copies, saved downloads and other copies on your devices can remain until you remove them. Existing sign-in tokens can remain valid until they expire.
Python and JavaScript execute in your browser. Supported Java and C++ questions send code to Round’s optional compiler service for bounded execution. Practice reports use visible checks and leave completion self-reported. They provide feedback on the cases that ran.
Guest drafts and notes stay in this browser until you choose to keep them in an account. Anyone using this browser profile may see guest work. Signed-in drafts and notes synchronize to your account.
When you’re signed in, Run and Submit attempt save captured code and visible outcomes to your account. Guest attempt history stays in this browser until you choose to transfer it. Browser recovery copies may also keep unsaved work on this device.
Round timed practice uses a fixed server deadline that continues through reloads and navigation. Session answers, visible practice reports, and optional reflections save to your account. Use self-review for SQL and design answers. Visible checks provide ungraded practice feedback.
Trial eligibility after account deletion
Round keeps a SHA-256 hash of the email address used for a trial, even after account deletion. Round uses this hash to prevent repeat trials.
Before hashing, Round trims surrounding spaces, converts the address to lowercase and removes any plus tag. For Gmail addresses, Round also removes dots before the @ sign and treats googlemail.com as gmail.com.
